The Look
I wanted to create a jumpsuit this week, along the theme of painter’s overalls or an aviation jumpsuit. These ‘practical’ jumpsuits provide all of the special pockets for the worker’s tools, which is how I thought of the woman in the Urban Jungle. She needs special places for her sunglasses, cell phone, lipgloss, metro card and headphones in order to survive daily city life. I wanted to use a more traditional menswear fabric in order to create the juxtaposition of work and play, and focused a lot on the fit of the jumpsuit. I even have special snap tabs on the neckline that hold your headphones up so you avoid any tangles or dropping of your headphones when you are not using them.
