Are we already on week 3? Time flies! Actually, I do… all the way to Boston this weekend, which means I had LESS than the ‘one day’ the real Project Runway contestants had to complete this challenge.
If you’re just catching up, don’t miss last week’s Everyday Woman challenge, and the first week’s Unconventional Challenge. Be sure to watch Project Runway as it airs Thursday nights at 9pm on Lifetime (not sponsored). Then, watch me as I attempt to complete the challenge at home and post the following Thursday before the next week’s episode. Although it won’t be exactly the same, I will do my best to complete the challenge given financial and time constraints.
Unfortunately due to the constrained time frame this week there are no ‘official’ judges, but who says you all can’t be my judges every week? I LOVE and rely on your positive and negative feedback each week, so pretty pretty puh-lease keep it coming!
Special Thanks to:
Mom – think of her as my Tim Gunn
Dad – thanks for holding the black lights in the bathroom

The Look: Although the only fabric I was really into at the store was a striped taffeta that’s better suited for curtains, I was able to place the stripes in a pieced way to create a blocking affect. I use white reflective ribbon as a detail to highlight the different directions of fabric, and used some around my neck for a choker detail. I swept the hair back for a sleek modern feel, and used white eyeliner around the eyes to (hopefully) make them pop in the black light. I am proud that I had something that worked in the black light, but I do wish I had more time to focus more on fit.
