I got back home from Japan on Saturday and headed straight into challenge 5 of Project Real Way. No rest for the wicked!
If you’re just catching up, don’t miss two week’s ago Swimsuit and Coverup challenge, Daylight to Blacklight challenge, week 2’s Everyday Woman challenge, and the first week’s Unconventional Challenge. Be sure to watch Project Runway as it airs Thursday nights at 9pm on Lifetime (not sponsored). Then, watch me as I attempt to complete the challenge at home and post the following Thursday before the next week’s episode. Although it won’t be exactly the same, I will do my best to complete the challenge given financial and time constraints.
Giovanni Zaccariello – Another one of my previous co-workers at Coach, and one that I looked forward to seeing in every meeting. He has a way of making the most dire situation seem hilarious and truly has a great eye for style!
Aubrey Ballard – One stylish lady living in Oklahoma and penning the blog The Dandy Liar. I love how Aubrey mixes up her personal style and has fun with fashion!
Kristin Shiller – My former college roommate and one of my best friends, I watched the first few seasons of Project Runway with this girl by my side on an old ratty couch. She’s a Project Real Way superfan now and I’m thrilled to have her as a judge!

The Look: I took inspiration from the signature copper pineapple of Absolut Elyx and the luxe textures of the furniture to design my dress. I went for an exaggerated a-line silhouette with a sheer mesh top and an intricate neckline mimicking the shape of the pineapple fronds. I used navy blue and teal faux suede to make the dress, and embellished with gold beads.
