Bear with me through these photos of me doing awkward yoga poses and attempting to jump off your screen. I was merely showing you how great these leggings move… ;)
I have been having a blast designing prints lately as you saw in this post last week. The transition from just sketching something on paper to being able to manipulate it in real life has been extremely rewarding and challenging- like opening an entire world of design potential I didn’t even know what available to me. Since I have spent so much time lately in dance and yoga clothing, I thought it fitting that one of my first design hurdles would be to use my prints on leggings so that I can actually wear them every day. I found this website Society6 (I’m sure most of you have heard of it already, I am clearly late to the party) where they print your designs on duvet covers, t shirts, mugs, phone cases, pillows and … leggings! So, I thought I would try it out with leggings first.
My first ‘collection’ if you will, is filled with classic patterns in fun and bright color ways. I stuck with familiar prints that I like to wear, like animal prints such as zebra and leopard, stars, stripes and simple gradients. I ordered my first 2 pairs and was surprised at how vividly the colors came out, and the antimicrobial poly/spandex is actually extremely comfortable for working out in as well as shape retention.
Here are more of my designs below. Love any? Hate any? Let me know! I would love to hear your opinions about whether you would wear them or not. Since I tend to be pretty gutsy with most of my workout clothing bright colors and bold patterns attract me, but knowing this I tried to have some darker, safer color ways for those who are a bit scared of my style. I look forward to hearing your feedback!
