There is something about being in Boston (or Massachusetts in general) that makes me want to dress in red, white and blue. Maybe its the Patriots (the historical and the team versions) or the strong boating culture, but visiting makes me want to pull out all my patriotic stops. That’s why this nautical stripe dress fit the bill so well.
You’ve seen me wear similar items like this in the past, but I promise you this nautical stripe dress is different. For one, the longer length and sleeves make it perfect for the finicky spring weather, and great for chillier summer nights. Also, the lacing detail up the front is a super cute detail that makes it wearable as a bathing suit coverup. I can see wearing it to outdoor BBQs, vacation dinners, and to the beach, which makes it ideal for traveling.
As far as styling goes, I think a dress always looks killer with clean tomboy accessories, like a white cap and sneakers. Then, a sweater or shirt tied around the waist gives a casual vibe. I decided to style it with a black and white shirt tied around the waist for added stripe effect, but a chambray top or cable knit sweater would look great too.
