Due Date: March 18, 2018
Baby’s Gender: You’ll have to stayed tuned to find out!
Cravings/Aversions: I just started a serious cereal craving… which is weird because I’ve had 2 other friends tell me they had the same thing! But other than that, my diet has stuck pretty much to normal. I guess my husband might disagree slightly though. Even though my tastes haven’t changed I think I’m more open to when he cooks something that great vs. only so-so… which I don’t think he appreciates (sorry babe!). The only real aversion is my coveted hot water with lemon. I used to start my day with lemon water every day but for this entire pregnancy the tartness of the lemon has been extremely unappetizing.
Size of Baby: About the size of a head of cauliflower, weighing in at just under 1.5 pounds.
Total Weight Gain: A little unclear but I think about 15 pounds so far. Considering that baby only weighs 1.5 of it…. it makes you wonder how much blood can really be pulsing through your veins!
Exercise: As you guys know, I’ve had some knee issues this year so heavy cardio wasn’t really in the cards for me. But I have been doing intervals on a bike for about 25 minutes 2-3x a week, and barre classes and weights 2x a week. I also try to fit in 2 30 minute yoga sessions a week which has really been amazing for me emotionally and physically. Since we are moving homes right now (more details coming soon!) I am going up and down stairs and packing boxes every day, so I think I’m moving more than enough :)
Favorite piece of clothing to wear right now: Knit dresses. Give me all the form fitting knit dresses! Since my bump has finally ‘popped’ it’s been more fun showing off the bump instead of trying to cover it with pants and tops. I posted a round up of some of my favorites here.
Symptoms: Now that I’m rounding up my second trimester, the extra weight has started to set in more. My lower back aches a bit and I can feel increased resistance when I breathe due to my lung capacity shrinking. I am also typically a stomach sleeper, so now that I have to sleep on my side my shoulders are often in pain. The lack of sleep is definitely a drag but DON’T WORRY I KNOW it will only get worse once the baby is born.
Baby Movement: This little babe is definitely wiggling, hiccuping and kicking a lot! I can feel him/her in the mornings and evenings mostly, and of course right as I am trying to get to sleep. I’m worried we may have a very active child on our hands! But seeing as mom and dad are very active… it’s no surprise.
What I’m stressing about: Honestly, I have been stressing about our impending move a lot more than this baby, and I welcome the distraction. Planning for a baby, reading all of the product reviews, designing a nursery… it all seems so overwhelming so I’m basically avoiding it by throwing myself in my new home design project. And the only room in the house I have no plans for? The nursery!
Hope you enjoyed! Well, even if you didn’t I think this will be a great little memory for me to come back to later on in life. Let me know if you have any questions for me about my pregnancy, workout routine, registry, etc. and I will be sure to answer them in my next bump date!
