Cinco de Mayo is coming up on Thursday, so I had friends and family over this past weekend for tacos, margaritas, and *almost* too much sunshine. It was the perfect opportunity to wear something inspired by Mexico, and since I had recently visited San Miguel de Allende and created this Otomi print, I decided to make this fun dress!
I love all sorts of festive, Mexican-inspired clothing and embroideries, but with this dress I wanted to give a more sophisticated vibe. I absolutely love Mara Hoffman and her designs, so I decided to mimic this dress and create a bold and fitted colored look of my own. I’ve realized that blank and white stripes in any form are my favorite way to accessorize a look, so making a belt out of varied black and white stripes was an obvious choice to define the waist of the dress.
