The next (and hopefully last for a looonnngg time) room on our home renovation is the master bedroom. I have mentioned before that I have a deep obsession with dark dark bedrooms, so I know I want to paint the walls a deep color. The other restriction around the re-design of our bedroom is simply that we cannot afford any new furniture! Nothing. At some point we would like to buy a king sized bed- but that time is not now, so I must find a way to work with what we have.
One of the things I am dying to change is our headboard. I bought this first bed frame and headboard from a discount retailer right after college, and it has made the trek across the country twice. Somehow it is still in good condition, but after seeing it in 3 rooms, I desperately want a change. I have always seen patterned headboards, but lately they seem fresh to me in bold colors and bohemian patterns. I think I should be able to DIY a new headboard with one of my prints to create a new look- Just check out some of my inspiration images below:
Love the bohemian pattern mixing on these first few images
1 // 2 (thats just a blanket thrown over the headboard but what a world of possibilities right?)
The vibrant floral and bird prints of these add life to white slat walls
These more tonal versions add subtle print and texture
And how adorable are both of these twin bed versions? I may force my future children to share a room just so I can decorate a room like these!
