Happy Monday everyone! I cannot believe January is about to be over, and that I have officially been in a knee brace and crutches the majority of the month. I took the knee brace off for this look, but decided to use my dining chair half the time for a well-needed prop.
What do you think of my mix gingham dress? Not only is it perfect for my situation, but it’s really the perfect dress for many occasions. I can see this funky spring print being worn to baby and bridal showers, (whether you’re the mommy to be or not!). I also think its perfect for everyday when you want to throw something on that looks polished but has the feel of a nightgown. And pairing it with slipper-like faux mules and a tailored blazer finish the look.
You guys know that I wear a lot of color, but every year around this time of year I reevaluate and go back to ground zero. I love black and white prints in all forms, and re-connect with my stripe loving self. This mix gingham dress is the perfect update to black and white for me, so it still feels very relevant for my more subdued vibe. But I can’t subdue it too much or it wouldn’t be me! I landed this pink tweed blazer coat at the J.Crew sale online and I loooooove it. I had been obsessed with it for a while, but there was no way I was paying full price for it. It is quite heavier than it looks so while I might not get a ton of use out of it this season, I know I will wear it over and over again in the coming years because the cut is so classic. I don’t usually wear pink because of the whole blond/barbie connection but I have to say it’s growing on me. Thousands of blonds before me have embraced pink, and many more will be after me. If I can’t beat ’em, join ’em, amiright?
