At 29 weeks of pregnancy dressing myself has officially become a challenge. I caved and bought one pair of maternity jeans, but honestly I hate them and you definitely will not be seeing them on the blog. I am constantly on the hunt for items that I can wear now and post pregnancy, and don’t sacrifice my creative style. Enter my maternity style hero: the knit 2 piece set.
Rocking a knot 2 piece set falls cleanly into one of my maternity style rules: wear head to toe color and pattern. That means dresses, pants or whatever you like, but ideally in the same color or pattern throughout so as to elongate the bump. Many people may argue that this is the time to ‘show off that bump’, and I want to make it clear that I am not trying to hide it! I am merely trying to flatter this new body type of mine as best as possible, and that means not cutting off my body right where it’s largest.
I think this particular checkered knit 2 piece set highlights that even a funky pattern can look cute and still be comfortable on a pregnant body. While I may take a few more risks with my fashion choices, a simple camel knit dress as seen here, can be flattering through all stages of pregnancy. I also invested in a few black knit and white knit skirts, in order to mix and match with black and white tees, turtlenecks and sweaters that I already have.
Finish off the look with a pair of COMFORTABLE funky sneakers and and maybe a long wool coat for the winter, and you will seriously be the chicest preggo (or any other woman for that matter) in the room! Shop my picks to kill the knit 2 piece set look, whether you are pregnant or not! (These are all non maternity styles!)
