Oh Yellow, how you make my heart sing.
The sun has shown signs of peaking through the rain and clouds that we’ve had the last few months, and there is nothing I want to wear more than this yellow color block outfit. This particular shade of yellow is bright, cheery and unexpected, which makes it surprisingly easy to wear. While you might think yellow is only good on tan skin tones, I actually find it equally seductive on pale skin.
If you read my blog religiously, you know I often speak about serendipitous shopping. When you stumble upon something something that catches your interest and intend to style it one way, but then get home and find something else in your closet that is SO MUCH better to match it to. That’s what happened with this yellow color block top. I spotted it and thought I would wear it with white pants or shorts in the summer, which is nice, but… standard.
Imagine my delight (and I get a LOT of delight out of these things) when I arrived home and realized I had already owned these bright yellow Zara pants! They match perfectly, and are actually a much better match than white pants. Why? Because with such a voluminous top, pairing it with white pants would have cut me off, and made the look more choppy. Cute, but not perfect. Wearing the yellow color block top with the yellow pants actually elongates the shape since the yellows overlap.
