Since I am reaching the age where wedding season is around the corner, I figure this blog can be a perfect way to highlight all the fabulous and beautiful ways my friends decorate and personalize their weddings. This wedding happened on a “the gods are shining down on us” November day, where the literally, the sun was shining and not a drop of precipitation was in the air. Maybe it was the magic of the bride and groom, but the typical New England weather stayed away this particular weekend (and instead decided to reserve the storm for April, apparently).
These pictures are of my walk through Boston Common, to a cute nail salon in the Back Bay where I got my toes done with the other bridemaids. Isn’t it unreal this time of year?
For the pictures below, some are mine and some are the professional photographers. Bet you can’t tell! Oh wait, of course you can. And his name is on the bottom left, Michael J. Charles. If you are getting married in the Boston vicinity, I strongly recommend him, as he was great to work with and very experienced.
Since this was a Fall/Winter Wedding, the bride chose warm fall colors like burnt orange, wine, and deep red, and chose long dresses for her bridesmaids (thankfully!) to keep them warm. The reception was in a refurbished barn that was warm and inviting in the inside, but kept the classic, antique feel that (I think) the bride was going for. I loved how she personalized pieces of her wedding; she made the programs at home, from cutting paper and glueing pictures to popping holes and tying bows by hand. My personal favorite touch was the “Spread the Love” raspberry jam that she specially ordered and made labels and hats for with hair ties. Plus- the jam was so good, I smuggled 3 back in my carry-on suitcase. Take that, TSA! Enjoy the pics!!
