As I stated a few days ago I am getting very excited about Fall style already. I am eagerly awaiting layers and jackets and boots, but in the 90 degree interim, I need to make sure to buy pieces that will transition well into fall. This outfit is a perfect example. I already have a top that is almost exactly like this, but with short sleeves (worn here) – it’s one of my favorite pieces, as it goes well with any type of bottom, especially this season’s culotte- but the voluminous sleeves make it so hard to layer in the office or in colder weather. This sleeveless version is the perfect solution- I can wear it as it is now and by layer it with blazers and thick sweaters into fall.
This a-line skirt is another perfect example of a Fall transition piece (also worn here). I love this shape because its easy breezy and cool enough for summer weather, appropriate to wear in the office, and layers nicely with tights or a cashmere sweater into fall. The intricate ombre jacquard pattern is unique as well, and since green is my favorite color but can be difficult to wear, this was the perfect way to incorporate the shade into my wardrobe. Adding pop color accessories completed the carefree vibe of the look, although I have to say I wasn’t so carefree posing in the middle of busy NYC traffic!
