The ‘Canadian Tuxedo’ has been a thing for a while. I think it started as some sort of insult back in the day about our neighbors from the north not having any style. However, about 10 years ago the denim on denim trend came back with a vengeance and those Canadians staring down at us laughed at as all the way to Levis.
I think we’ve all seen iterations of denim on denim now for years, but the way I’m wearing it- I hope it makes you look twice. This cutout top is totally surprising-it only gives a pinch of skin but the extra long left side and buttoned up neckline provide almost completecoverage. I love how versatile this piece is going to be; seriously, I imagine it over a pattern pleated skirt, worn over a button down shirt, and extra wide culottes with funky heels.
Paired with skin tight jeans (only $20!) and a neon pop, the question becomes, why wouldn’t you wear a Canadian Tuxedo?
