This past weekend I had THE BEST TEA PARTY BABY SHOWER I could have ever asked for. I was surrounded by ~30 of my closest friends which is of course, reason enough to have a great time. But more than that, the hosts pulled out all the stops to make sure every detail was thought through and perfect for me! Below I’m sharing everything about this wonderful day, including what I wore, what we ate, and what activities we did to make the day so special!
What I Wore
I picked out this gorgeous silvery-gold pleated ALC dress from Tilden to wear at my tea party baby shower because it was the perfect combination of fancy and comfortable. It’s not a ‘maternity’ dress per se, but everything on Tilden’s website is curated to work during or post-pregnancy, so that you never feel like you are wasting money on something that you can’t wear again. I’m hoping to actually wear this dress to a wedding in a few months, and you can see how differently it will fit then! The elastic portion should sit directly on my waist post-pregnancy, whereas now it looks quite cute right now on top of my bump!
Special Thanks to Tilden for partnering with me on this post!
The Food and Decor
The tea party theme was blown out of the park due to the tasty treats, the gorgeous tiered serving trays and the dainty tea cups and saucers. For savory dishes we had delicious egg salad, cucumber & cream cheese, and turkey mini tea sandwiches, as well as salmon crostinis and quiche squares. For sweet treats we had scones with clotted cream and jam, assorted pastries, and delicious mini bundt cakes. I was in heaven. I love a good tea party because you get to try so many things and go back and forth between sweet and savory while you enjoy your tea (matcha for me!), which is basically every pregnant woman’s dream meal.
The tables were done by Deborah of Table and Dine, who I often shoot for! She brought over tons of tea cups and saucers, and combined with all of the mini bowls and serving trays it set the perfect mood for a girly tea party baby shower.
The finishing touch were the ADORABLE mini matcha almond cookies and jars that were gifted as favors for the guests! I could not believe that such attention to detail and my favorite things were considered in this! I was really blown away… so much so that I might have stolen a few extra to take home with me :)
The Activities!
You guys know I love a good craft project, but I know that getting down and dirty with paints is not everyone’s cup of tea (had to, sorry). So my friends came up with a GENIUS idea to do fabric iron on transfers in cute shapes for the onesies instead. Basically all you had to do was first iron together a piece of scrap fabric and iron on transfer paper, then cut out the desired shape, peel the backing, and iron on a onesie! It was basically fool proof, and you can see how cute they all came out!
During the meal, we also played a little game of Mommy or Daddy, where you had to guess which one of the facts belonged to me or Mr. R. I was surprised at how many I didn’t know! It was definitely nice to learn some of those facts about my husband and be reminded of my own stats just before baby girl R comes into our lives! My favorite one? I thought I was the first to walk at 10.5 months (which is pretty early) but it turns out my husband beat me to the punch at 9.5 months! We may have a busy little lady on our hands!
Overall it was a fantastic day, and a tea party baby shower was the perfect theme to shower this little lady with love. Special thanks to Ashley, Lauren, Angie, Nina, Deborah and the ladies at Tilden for making my day oh so special!
