Typically your third trimester is the hardest bump to style, but the most fun if you can get it right. Since we are on week 6 of quarantine, the majority of my third trimester will be spent indoors, with zero dress code. Although sweatpants and leggings may sound like the best situation, one of the reasons I was looking forward to this pregnancy is having more fun with my pregnancy style than I did the first go ’round.
I have been aiming to dress up a few times a week, renting more adventurous styles from Rent the Runway and really getting creative with my looks. I seriously love most of what I have worn, and think I would have worn it whether I was pregnant or not! I am goofing off in many of these pictures because of the sheer reality of the situation, but most of these I was planning to wear for various excursions anyway.
This pregnancy differs a lot from my last pregnancy in that last time I was in and out of the hospital for ultrasounds and antenatal testing 4x/wk, which meant wearing clothing that could easily reveal my bump and get that gross jelly all over it, with repeated washings. This time I haven’t been to the doctor in weeks, with only virtual checkups, meaning I can wear what I want! I have been experimenting with embroidered and fitted mini dresses, jumpsuits and floaty two-piece styles, and really embraced the bump as an accessory instead of a fashion hindrance. Hey- it might the last time I do this… I want to have fun with it!
