You may or may not know, but I graduated from Cornell University with a BS in Apparel Design and Business. I loved every moment of my fashion education in upstate New York, but my follow design graduates are a small little community of people. So whenever I get connected with a fellow design alum, I get very excited to see what moves they have made in their career.
Amelia Brown is one of my fellow graduates, and I am excited to introduce her incredible clothing line to you. In her own words, “Her approach to design begins with the cultural heritage of dress, from which she adapts traditional silhouettes and embellishments in new ways.” You can immediately see the global inspiration in the intricate embroidery and embellishments on her pieces, and paired with sophisticated silhouettes and luxurious fabrics, the look is grown-up and glamorous. I particularly loved the silver silk a-line dress. I would never have picked that out as my favorite piece upon first glance, but after putting it on, it was truly transformative. She built out the structure of the dress so beautifully that it would be flattering on any woman, and who doesn’t love pockets? I absolutely loved working together on these images, and I hope you are transported and inspired by her collection!
