It’s funny how an outfit comes together. I saw this olive green satin hat at H&M a while back and while having a particularly bad hair day myself I tried it on and thought… well yeah, this fixes things. For $13 it was the instant good hair day and cool-girl remedy that I needed. I wore it around the house and to do errands for 3 days straight before thinking about how to put it in an outfit.
While rifling through my closet I color matched it to my tried and true olive green bomber jacket that I’ve owned since before they were cool (the second time). This is another piece that I wear almost every day. Its heavy enough for chilly San Francisco and has water-repellance, which is as close to a raincoat as I have ever owned. So then Mr. McConaughey’s famous ‘alright, alright, alright’ came into my head, quickly followed by J.Lo.
That’s right I said J.Lo. While head to toe tight white and an olive green bomber jacket and cap combo may remind you of a Kardashian, it was actually Jennie from the Block who first made this look cool. White hers was most likely paired with a crop top turtleneck and gold hoops the size of my face, my version is a little more relatable with a statement necklace layered over the turtleneck and some sustainable white sneakers so that the casual inspired look is, uh… actually casual.
So there you have it. A casual olive green and white look inspired by a satin baseball cap that took you on a celebrity referencing ride. Don’t be fooled by the rocks that I got- this look is actually easy to achieve and I bet you own some of the pieces in your closet already!
