Marble is the new black.
Or chevron. Or animal print. Or Pantone color of the year….?
At first I thought I had discovered something for my own personal home decor dreams, but then I slowly realized I was being sucked into the trend of the year. I have to say I’m pretty happy about it- marble is beautiful and organic and no two prints or pieces are the same. Like animal prints and wood before it, marble is a naturally occurring pattern in the world which means it can stand the home decor test of time.

I think the trend really started to blow up when Alexander Wang took the helm at Balenciaga in Fall 13 and showed a stunning assortment of crackled clothing and footwear, with models walking along a marbled, crackled runway.
