You guys remember St. Louise in the first SATC Movie and her bags from “Bag, Borrow or Steal”? Well I’ve stumbled upon it’s amazing counterpart for jewelry, Rocksbox. What I love about it is the element of surprise that sets it apart from other rental subscription services. You fill out a survey with what kinds of jewelry and baubles you like, and your personal stylist selects 3 items for you according to your tastes. You can borrow them as long as you want, and as soon as you send it back they select another 3 items to send to you. It’s so fun to see what you get each month- sometimes the jewelry inspires your look instead of the other way around! Personally, I informed my stylist that I liked to layer pieces- several gold necklaces or bracelets adds exponentially more impact than wearing them alone, so I was extremely excited to receive 2 awesome gold necklaces to layer with from designer brands- one from Gorjana, and one from Charlene K.
I’m excited to share my own personal code with you to receive a one-month free subscription to Rocksbox; just enter stefschoenxoxo at checkout to take your own style quiz and try it out. If you have any weddings or events coming up- this will be the perfect way to take it up a notch!
I also have a funny story about these woven sandals that I got in Tokyo with my mom 4 years ago. There is SO MUCH fun stuff to buy in Tokyo, so I was convinced to spend money on something that was a statement item that I would remember the trip with for years. You can’t see the cage part around the ankle in these pictures, but I promise I will wear the shoes again soon to show them in all their glory. My mom told me she thought they were the ugliest shoes she had ever seen, and to be honest, I wasn’t quite sure I loved them either, but I just wanted to buy something a little strange to take home. Probably 1 year later I received a text message from my mom with a bunch of pictures of similar shoes and she said, “ok, I guess you were right, those crazy shoes are all over the place now!” I was pretty proud of that moment because being ahead of a trend can be a little strange and uncertain at times, but it reminds you to take more fashion risks and live a little louder.
Thank you to Alyssa from Alisted for taking the pictures!
