I have been waiting for over 6 months to finally announce the existence of my consulting business on my blog, and today is the day!
After years of honing my skills as a merchandising and product expert, I combined my other passion for social media strategy into my retail consulting company, Schoen Retail Consulting, or SRC.
How did you come up with the idea for a consulting business?
Since I officially left the corporate retail world in late 2015, I have focused on my blog, my sewing projects and my family. After a few months of soul-searching and realizing that I desperately missed building businesses and working with others, starting my own consulting firm was the obvious answer. It is the absolute perfect marriage of my skill set and my new family goals, and allows me to continue to focus on my passions without me necessarily being the center of it all.
Although I will continue to blog, I have already taken on multiple clients nationwide, and truly feel like this was the career stepping stone that was waiting for me.
What can Schoen Retail Consulting help with?
I have had many inbound calls this past year and had the pleasure of advising many friends and small businesses on all things retail (focusing on what I like to call the 4 P’s: Product, Positioning, Pricing, Perception). My skill set and expertise in the online and brick and mortar retail space has already helped many brands identify new opportunities and continue them on their road to success.
- Sales and Inventory assessments
- Social Media Audit and Strategy
- Brick and Mortar assistance – sales training, POS integration, presentations minimums, in-store displays, best practices
- Long range business plans
- Wholesale strategy
- Organizational evaluation and job description creation
- Honest product or service assessment
- Competitive analysis and opportunities for individualization
- SEO, website analytics, website audit
- Influencer marketing strategy
- Advisory and Board opportunities
Know someone who would be the perfect client for SRC?
If you know of anyone who would benefit from these services in the coming months or 2020, I would really appreciate a referral. All partnerships begin with a phone call, and then we take it from there. I have recently done a few projects across the United States, and am happy to travel should the client be outside of the San Francisco Bay Area.
