Green has long been my favorite color; and since it is the color of nature, money and my eyes I am constantly reminded of how many inviting and slightly devious shades it takes on. My children bedroom was and is still sponge painted sage green, my first adult bedroom after college I painted floor to ceiling stripes in shades of mint, I have been known to go to job interviews with lime green nail polish, and I have a Pinterest board dedicated to Everything Emerald. My newest obsession however, is chartreuse.
Ever since Nicole Kidman hit the oscars in that chartreuse stunner, this color has grown in popularity, and I think 2016 will finally be it’s rise into mainstream. While the yellow-green hue gives electro-shock therapy to any room or space, it also goes surprisingly well with many colors and styles already in your home. Ever so alarming with mod shades of black and grey, it also blends seamlessly with traditional jewel tones such as royal blue, aubergine and fuchsia, and soft pastels such as lavender and tiffany blue. If you are looking for a quick update to your space, a few chartreuse pillows or a bold new console table could be the fix you need.
