Fundamentals of Flat Patternmaking: The Slash and Spread Technique
In this video I show you the basics of flat pattern making, using the slash and spread technique. By ‘slashing’ the pattern pieces you release any fullness, and by ‘spreading’, you can add more through gathers and pleats. This short video shows you 3 absolutely basic tutorials so that you can learn how to create a princess seam bodice from your basic sloper drape, as well as a princess seam tank top with gathers, and a V neck top with sweetheart seam detail.
