I know we just barely hit summer but I’m already looking toward fall. Fall Fashion that is! As is pretty much unanimously agreed upon, fall is the best fashion season. So I thought we could take a sneak peak at some fall fashion trends so that you can start buying smart shopping decisions now.
The Colors of Fall
One of the easiest way to grab onto a fall fashion trend is by nailing the it colors of the season. Mustard yellow and Red are going to be big this fall, especially worn as a head to toe look. Nothing is more powerful than an all-red ensemble, and mustard yellow is one of those colors that always feels fresh since so few people wear it. However, mustard yellow is a surprisingly versatile color, pairing extremely well with red, navy, military green, royal blue, purple, and hot pink (you read that right).
While wearing all red may be a bit much for some people, you can embrace this fall fashion trend by investing in a red blazer to wear with last seasons red bag, a red lipstick, and a red shoe. A little powerful red goes a long way, so don’t feel the need to overdo it. But if you want to… think about a long red maxi skirt or dress with red earrings for a night out, or a tailored red pantsuit for work.
The Return of the Tailored Suit
Speaking of suits, I bring you the next big fall fashion trend: the return of the tailored suit. For the last few years or so, high fashion has taken a streetwear-inspired turn, with bomber jackets and oversize hoodies (thank you Fenty Puma and the Kardashians) taking the lead. This season you can dig back into your closet for those blazers that thank goodness you didn’t throw out, because they are back.
This season’s tailored suit has a few distinctions. First, avoid anything too fitted or shrunken. A cool, modern blazer is less stiff and hits around the hip, ideally double breasted or with a shawl collar for a draped look. While mustard yellow and red are killer for a suit, the reality is that what’s old is new again. That means glen plaids, grandfather checks, and prep school tartans are the new patterns of choice, harking to a day of more storied, and business-like class.
Make it Your Own
If you’re like me, you take a bit of one trend and a bit of another. Then, you combine it together to make you’re own look! Since I found this blazer on sale at Zara I have found endless ways to wear it, and waiting for fall is just not happening! Since I know what the future fall fashion trends are, I can shop comfortably now knowing that what I buy will work in my wardrobe for later as well.
