Last week I was having a particularly crappy, stressful day and I couldn’t quite keep it together on my walk home from work. I needed something, anything, any sign that would cheer me up. Well wouldn’t you know it, the heavens parted, the sunshine lit my path and I saw a sign. It said “50% off”.
Loft was having a 50% off the entire store sale, and to be honest I never shop at Loft, but I also was desperately in need of some retail therapy. I spotted this romper and a chambray tunic the second I walked in the door, and within 10 minutes I had them wrapped up and bagged and paid and instantly my mood changed. I know, I need to find a healthier, and less expensive way of changing my mood, but I guess some people are emotional eaters, and I’m an emotional shopper. Could be worse.
Anyway, the point is that even through my whirlwind shopping therapy session, I walked out the door with 2 amazing pieces that I am in love with. This romper is the easiest piece to throw on in the sweltering humidity of NYC summer, and I wore it to brunch at Rosemary’s in the west village with Mr. R. And let’s not forget about the hat. I bet you’ve found yourself looking for a hat you can wear walking around on a casual day, but not one that’s too sporty, and not one giant floppy beach hat that doesn’t allow you to see where you’re going. Enter this perfect 3″ brim straw hat. I received 2 random compliments on it on Sunday while walking around so either New Yorkers were just feeling nice that day (hah! doubtful) or it really is a good hat.
What do you think?
Loft embroidered romper, Zara straw hat, Coach duffle bag (on sale in stores but similar online here), Coach sandals (old), ASOS round sunglasses.
