I’m always rifling through my craft stash to see what easy DIYs I can whip up in less than an hour (if I’m lucky… with a baby it’s more like 30 minutes now) so I’m happy to announce this easy earring DIY that makes two pairs of DIY tortoiseshell circle earrings in less than 30 minutes! Yes, really!
This DIY makes 2 pairs instead of one because of the minimum buy for the tortoiseshell pieces from Etsy. However, you can make just one pair or mix and match all the pieces together for one epic pair! The best part about these pieces is that most of them already have holes in them which makes for easy jump ring access, and they are resin which makes them extremely lightweight on the ears. Let’s see the DIY, shall we?
DIY Tortoiseshell Circle Earrings
What you Need
- Large skinny jump rings
- Resin tortoiseshell pieces
- E600 Glue
- Flat earring posts
- Small jewelry pliers (optional, but this is a great starter set)
How to Make the Earrings
Step 1: Decide how you would like to lay out your earrings, identifying where the holes are in your pieces.
Step 2: Using the E6000, glue on the earring backs onto your small brown disks and let dry.
Step 3: Open the jump rings and insert in the holes, or around the circle pieces. Close tightly with the jewelry pliers.
Step 4: Repeat with all pieces until your earrings are done! Easy peesy!!
