The spring sun is shining and its time to whip out my latest creation, this lace two piece set! I first spotted the fabric at Joann’s a few months ago and was pleasantly surprised at the level and quality of embroidery on the chambray fabric. I quickly bought up 2 yards waiting for the weather to change so I could make something fun with it. If you follow along my instagram and my instastories, you would have seen the process of me designing and sewing this look, and the struggles I had with it.
The most difficult thing when sewing with pattern or lace details like this is matching up the fabric perfectly at the seams, so it looks like one smooth line. Although its hard to get anything perfect, It turned out better than I could have hoped as the rise and fall of the lace line lines up nicely at the side and center front seams.

Whether you sew or not, I strongly recommend investing in a lace two piece set like this one for the warm months to come or summer vacations. The pieces individually are great on their own- I paired the top with overalls for lunch one day and wore the skirt on the plane and as a beach coverup. But then for a nicer night out or a day activity, wearing them together is a stunner. I can’t tell you how many people stopped me and asked me where they could find this outfit! Both pieces make such a statement but are still easy and comfortable for warm weather (i.e. drinking outside, sunburns, tan lines) and can be worn with basically any summer shoe.
