I’ve worn these pants before, but since fashion week starts today I thought I would bring them out of retirement for their obvious graphic value. Wide leg pants with vertical stripes are such a fashion statement, and if they pool on the floor (or in this case, disgusting city street, ALL THE BETTER).
I just love wearing vertical stripes because they force the eye to go up and down, either highlighting your face or your shoes. Also, the bold green, blue, black and white on these pants makes them surprisingly versatile. While easily pairing with black and white, they also stand out with bright emerald green and royal blue. And if you read tuesday’s post, you know that these particular shades of green and blue are my jam.
When styling wide leg vertical stripes, consider wearing something very slim on top. This balances out the shape, as well as makes it easier to move and get on with your life. It is very possible to wear two exaggerated shapes together, however I will tell you that you will either be stepping on your hem or have limited use of your hands, so just choose one of the two ;)
