I am so excited for today’s post because as I am back into home decorating mode and I can’t wait to start attacking my blank walls with art. I have always struggled with wall art because most of the ‘affordable’ art out there feels generic to me as I can’t relate to the artist’s inspiration. I tend to gravitate towards photography or make my own abstract art, but I feel as if I am missing something more colorful and whimsical that speaks to me. Since I love fashion and surface design so much, I realized hanging scarves as wall art would do the trick!
When you think about it, beautiful silk printed scarves from the Italian and French luxury houses ARE art! And this is a type of art that I can totally relate to. I used to think that there was no way that I would be able to afford luxury Hermes, Chanel and Gucci silk scarves. Then I discovered Bidsquare, an online auction house with all sorts of beautiful vintage art, couture, jewelry, home decor and of course SCARVES; so now this beauty is in my budget. I can’t wait to tell you more about how to get the gorgeous look without the $$$ price tag, but first let’s scroll through some eye candy, shall we?

If you weren’t convinced before, I bet you’re on board now! These images show just how stunning an Hermes scarf could be for your walls, and how impactful a set of 3 Pucci scarves could be lined up in a hallway. My good friend Liza (oh hey girl!) bought the cutest Hermes scarf (below) for her home and I’ve been envious ever since. Now I can get the scarf as wall art look- hashtag copycat- without the hefty price. Sorry Liza!
These beautiful scarves run upwards of $400 brand new, but since many of these items have a starting price of $35, there is a huge chance you can score one for under $100! Buying through an auction is totally different than scrounging through a thrift store. For one, it’s like shopping meets gaming. Perfect for all you app obsessed, Pokemon hunting phoneaholics. Second, all items in the auction are verified for authenticity, so you know you are getting the real deal. See what I did there?
