It’s the best time of the year, it’s the worst time of the year.
I mean that, almost seriously. This is the time of the year when the cheery birds chirp, pedicures are plentiful and tulips are at every turn. However, this newfound warmth has found it’s way to the bedroom, where you most likely wake up in a sweat every morning, not sure whether you should spend next week’s paycheck pumping the AC or sleeping sans sheets.
If you’re like me, which you’re probably not, you hold out with your duvet as loonnnnng as you can, hoping that a cool breeze will swoop in the middle of the night to balance out the heat. I suffer all spring and summer, just because buying another bedtime accessory seems so pointless. and wasteful. and no one sees it but you…. so why not buy another pair of shoes instead? Except treating yourself to a good night’s sleep is probably the best thing you can do for yourself. It’s better than an apple a day at keeping the doctor away. Better than that SKII mask for dark circles and certainly better than a white noise machine to block out the bar taking out the trash at 3pm.
But I digress. That’s why, this year…. I am treating myself to a quilt. Sounds racy, right? I treat myself to new eberjey nightgowns twice yearly so why not a new quilt? I have had my eye out for a while now because I am also searching for one for my parents, so I thought I would do a roundup here of some of my favorites. While I would love to be one of those people who just has a neutral room with lots of texture in their bedding, I am always drawn to patterns and color, so I can imagine myself with something a little more graphic and playful. Whatever your nocturnal fantasy, there is something on this round up for everyone!
First up, neutral and textured:
Left to Right, Top to Bottom: 1 // 2 // 3 // 4 // 5 // 6
Black, Grey, White and Graphic:
Color and Whimsy
1 // 2 // 3 // 4 (looks simple, but love the small reversible design) // 5 // 6 // 7 // 8 // 9
And which is my absolutely favorite? Probably this one- a collaboration with Pauline Boyd for PotteryBarn. I love the handmade quality of it and of course those fringe sections. I think it will look beautiful with my new dark bedroom walls!
