As much as it may appear that my style changes, I actually feel that over the past 6 months I have really been able to hone in on what my style is. Of course my 11 closet essentials are the backbone of my wardrobe, which allows me to add lots of color, fun prints and textures into my wardrobe.
But beyond those pieces, I have really come to understand what other things fit into my lifestyle, both in aesthetic and comfort reasons. One of them is the bomber jacket. I have spoken about my love for a white blazer, but for a more casual look, a white bomber jacket works for so many occasions. I have worn a green aviation style here, and a white leather one here, even a long trapeze style here, but this newest addition in textured floral is absolutely going to live in my wardrobe for a long time. I love it styled casually like this over jeans, but it will also make a great lightweight layer for bridal showers, weddings and more formal events.
The other piece I have an absolutely obsession with are great structural white blouses. I must have 6 or 7 now that are all interesting. I literally have ZERO regular white button downs, but a bunch of beautiful white tops with varying layers, ruffles and peplums, all which pair perfectly with my more colorful and patterned pieces, but look professional and provide ample coverage all the same. This latest one has short sleeves and a high neckline, and I can’t stop wearing it as it is basically just an upgraded white tee shirt.
Lastly, the other core piece in my wardrobe is shoes. Who’s isn’t? I really love this latest Banana Republic purchase since the heel height is not too high (something I would have scoffed at 6 months ago… but now that I am actually walking in them and not just at a desk… well, things change). The fringe detail is crazy and fun and adds the pizazz I need to an otherwise muted look!
