In all of the home decor magazines/blogs/books etc they talk about ‘clustering’ items together for a statement look. It can be a gallery wall, a collection of vases, or pots of succulents. Any repetition of the same thing together adds dimension. Well, lets take that idea with fashion. We generally layer black, and maybe white if we’re feeling risky, but generally nothing else for the fear of looking like a cartoon character. However layering items of the same or similar look can also be alluring, as I did with this chambray dress and chambray peplum top. The mixed lengths and contrasting flare shapes make you look twice, while the stripe shirt holds everything in. Oh, and as for my matching bag and shoes? I don’t usually match but now when Mr. R says “date night” I literally jump at “how fancy?” and decided to double up on some items that haven’t gotten as much use lately.
