On this #WeddingWednesday, I’m going to talk about a bunch of the additional small details that went into the wedding. Paper goods were a big deal, as you may think about the invites and maybe even the menus, but then you still have programs, table decor, escort cards etc. No, these things aren’t crucial, but if you have a plan, it makes going through the process quicker and more painless. I knew I wanted to keep all of the additional paper goods in a simple color palette, to let the green of the florals shine. So my family and I went to Staples and bought grey and black cardstock in order to make the programs, escort cards and San Francisco street sign table numbers.
We re0used our wedding logo and fonts from the invites, in order to make the programs cohesive.
I loved the layered program because it allowed us to include a lot of information and reading material while the guests were waiting. We included information about the wedding party including little mini jokes, details about the ceremony structure, as well as an excerpt from our Ketubah, which is the jewish marriage contract. We folded black cardstock around the layered grey papers and tied them off with silver ribbon which was used in the table settings as well.
The San Francisco street name table ‘numbers’ was my personal favorite project. I loved picking which tables would have which street names, as I could use the more famous ones for the out-of-town visitors and the inside joke ones for our in town guests.
Our escort cards used the same grey card stock and font as the programs, but we fished through our giant bag of wine corks (too much drinking in our house) to hold the cards up. The red wine corks (stained with red) were for red meat, and the white corks for fish. I loved this idea since it kept us from having to add another element to the escort cards.
For some of the gifts, I went a more fun, whimsical route. You saw how I did the table settings here, with individual champagne splits for each guest along with custom Krazy straws that said “S heart J”. For one of my bridesmaids gifts I bought custom straws with their name on it, with individual champagne splits in bright colors. These were fun to sip on as we were getting ready all morning!
For the mini gifts that we included in the welcome bags, we chose one item to be “Jeff’s favorite” and one to be “Stef’s Favorite” and boxed/bagged them up with custom labels that I had printed from Wedding Paper Divas. Our guests loved enjoying the snacks while reading the Welcome brochure (not pictured) and telling us later who’s ‘favorite’ won out. (mine, obviously).
I feel like its the special little details that take the day up a notch, and of course I loved doing all of these little projects, in between pulling out my hair. However, now that they are done and the craziness is settled, I am still so happy I did all of these to remember the whole process, not just that one day.
