I’ve found it easier lately to group my travel outfits together, as I find it’s better for me to go back and reference how much to pack for a specific destination, versatile items, as well as what I actually enjoyed wearing. Hopefully, seeing everything I wore in NYC last week will help you with future travels as well.
Everything I wore in Jackson Hole, WY
Everything I wore in Paris, France
The crazy reality of this NYC trip was that even though of all destinations you would think I would wear heels, because of all the walking, I only wore heels once. I packed my white leather Keds and literally wore them every day, walking upwards of 15,000 steps a day. I could have forgotten the heels altogether, which I will remember for the next trip, instead maybe packing another pair of cute boots or walking shoes so I have a stylish alternative to my kicks.
This black Mara Hoffman linen jacket was an item I randomly bought on sale and can’t imagine not having with me in NYC. Because of the heat and humidity you don’t need anything heavy, but it’s nice at night to have some sort of topper to finish off a look and help against AC. This piece will go down as one of the chicest and most versatile pieces I own! Paired with my hand-made plaid two piece set, mustard heels and black headband, I felt chic and dressed up, but still able to run around after my baby stroller.
I quickly made this skirt with the extra fabric from making this top, and it was SUCH an easy but glam way to dress up a white tee, blazer (similar) and my Keds. I wore this look out during the day and to a friends house in Hoboken for dinner, proving it’s versatility!
The Keds strike again! But this time paired with my favorite Rixo pleated skirt (similar here), a simple black tank and the Mara Hoffman jacket from above. The length of the skirt was perfection for the city… it’s short enough not to touch the nasty NYC streets, but long enough that when you step over a subway grate you aren’t suddenly in a Marilyn moment.
You’ve already seen the details on this #memade dress, but I ended up wearing this dress a few times with my Keds for my more dressed up events. It had the perfect length and sexy cutouts for the city, but truthfully was a little warm on some days in the heat.
Of course I also brought my pink sweatsuit that I wear on the plane and whenever I need to run out early morning for a coffee, but pretty much every event or activity for the week was wearing some combination of the above looks!
