How to Create a Backless Gathered Neck Top: Part 2
In this part 2 of a 3 part series, I show you how to take the flat patternmaking skills you have learned already to turn our raglan sleeve into a blouson sleeve with a cuff, and then sew the muslin for this top. We will assess the drape and I will give you various tips on how to sew gathers and how to sew your muslins quickly.
Part 1: I show you how to take the draping skills you have learned already to drape a gathered neck, backless top with a raglan sleeve. We will explore draping gathers, which can be done into any seamline and how fullness effects the grainline of the fabric.
Part 3: We will sew this project together, and explore various finishing techniques for organza and satin fabrics. Then we will also talk about the order of operations when sewing your own garments, and how finishing the edges first can help improve the final result of the garment.
