How to Drape a Backless Gathered Neck Top
In this Part 1 of a 3 part series, I show you how to take the draping skills you have learned to drape a gathered neck, backless top with a raglan sleeve. We will explore draping gathers, which can be done into any seamline and how fullness effects the grainline of the fabric.
Part 2: You will learn how to turn this muslin drape into a paper pattern, and how to use the slash and spread flat pattern method to turn the basic raglan sleeve into a blouson sleeve with a cuff.
Part 3: We will sew this project together, and explore various finishing techniques for organza and satin fabrics. Then we will also talk about the order of operations when sewing your own garments, and how finishing the edges first can help improve the final result of the garment.
