This short video shows the 6 pieces I designed and made for my 2 week trip to France, showing all of the multiple ways each item can be worn, from the eyelet blouse that can be worn under or over dresses, the toile jersey t-shirt that can be worn forwards or backwards, the completely reversible gingham to eyelet anorak, and the complementary pieces all meant to invoke the spirit of France, but in a modern and wearable way. I love to travel but refuse to pack more than one suitcase (sharing with my daughter too!) and the only way to do that is to make sure every single item has more than one purpose!
I sincerely hope you love seeing some of the details of this collection, like the contrast blue and neon zippers, the gathered blue detail, the blue drawcord on the anorak and the patches on the tee, which show that something can be wearable for everyday but still have a WOW impact as well.
When thinking about each piece, it was really important to think about length and width of each item, to ensure that the coat was long enough to wear over the gingham dress, but still look right paired with the pant. Also, the blouse needed to be right tucked in to the pant or worn loose with a belt, or over the gingham dress. I also needed to make sure that the cut of the tee was low enough in the front and back so that it could be made reversible!
