Gone are the days of faux fur coats being faux-pas, which is fantastic, because now the options for a beautiful and warm coat are endless. My personal collection holds 3 options (one animal print, one pink, one white) but now that I use Rent the Runway my fall coat collection is endless.
There are a lot of reasons to buy (or rent) a fuzzy faux coat. Trust me, it will be the first thing you reach for in your closet, even over your trusty puffer. These coats are shockingly warm, and since the fabric is always malleable, squishy and soft, you avoid the restriction and stiffness that other bulky coats (like puffers and wool) provide.
When I lived in New York my leopard coat was an all time fave, and while I still think it’s a classic in any wardrobe, I do appreciate the silliness and color of something with a little more whimsy. The magenta collar on this coat is over the top and completely perfect with an easy Canadian tuxedo.
