Last year I photographed and helped style a table with Table + Dine and I never got around to post it! Since it’s the height of summer again, it felt right to finally post these fun images of an outdoor tapas party we did with Lenox’ Wonki Ware Dinnerware. Wonki Ware is Lenox’ line of casual stoneware that is inspired by the traditional crafts in South Africa. Each plate or bowl is made entirely by hand so no two are alike, which makes it the perfect collection to use around your home for nuts, cheese plates, and al fresco dinner parties.
I love how the colors casually mix together and there is no right or wrong way to stack them. Plus each Wonki Ware plate has different textures and patterns on them which makes each one unique. I think its the perfect set for casual entertaining, and the light weight of the dinnerware makes it perfect for outside and easy to clean.
When Deborah and I set this table last summer, she was so smart about the other colors and textures to include in the setting. A beautiful blue denim table cloth and rattan chargers are consistent with the casual outdoor vibe, while copper moscow mule glasses add a touch of shine. We set a really low table strewn with large outdoor pillows and my moroccan wedding blanket, so that guests can lounge around and munch on the tapas without feeling tethered to one spot.
We also added a little height to the shot with tall stoneware vases. These particular ones are sold out, I’ve linked to a few below that are affordable and would be stunners on any table or home!
I absolutely loved shooting this alfresco meal with Wonki Ware and can’t wait to use the product again. I love the global vibe and the collected feel. It doesn’t come across as too serious or precious- just the perfect dinnerware for a great party!
