1. Oversize Plaid Jacket
This trend-driven piece seems like it could be worked into my wardrobe more often, but the drop shoulders and shapeless fit say otherwise. I love plaid and I love a great blazer, but somehow I haven’t found as many ways to wear this as I expected.
2. Gold Embroidered Blouse
This was a silly purchase because I never wear button-downs! I love the gold embroidery an the slightly sheer fabric, but there is never an occasion formal enough for a sheer shirt (I would rather wear a dress) or casual enough for a button down (I would rather wear a sweater or knit). This piece is stuck in my wardrobe limbo so I never reach for it!
3. Gingham Mini Skirt
I did love this skirt the first time I wore it- but after taking photos I realized it’s wayyyy too mini for a mini skirt for me anymore. I need at least an extra length if not 2, to look better and be comfortable. I love the print and the idea of it, but it’s rare at this point in my life that I want to put on a mini skirt that’s this tight!
4. Pink Tweed Coat
I don’t wear hot pink, and I don’t live in a climate for this warm of a jacket (it’s heavy!). I saw another blogger wear it and it was on sale and I made a really poor decision. I don’t usually get that influenced by other bloggers that I shop outside my comfort zone…!
5. Knotted Heels
Another entirely trend driven piece, these shoes were inspired by a runway style that swept the streets of NYC. I like the idea of them, and they are actually pretty comfortable, but they don’t go with that many outfits. Plus, this style was so popular at the time they now feel dated if I wear them! Ugh! (hand to forehead!)
So even though I regret all of these purchases I am going to do my best to work the pink jacket and the plaid blazer into my wardrobe this fall before I sell them. They are still great pieces… for someone else. If I can’t make it work, I sell all of my items (with the other 3 pieces) on Poshmark under the name TheStyeS
