I hope everyone had a fun and fabulous 4th of July weekend! I spent yesterday with family on a boat in Lake Tahoe, and it was nothing short of spectacular. The lake was a crystal clear bright blue, there wasn’t a cloud in the sky, and the mountains surrounding the lake were dotted with leftover snow which was surreal.
Although I only went for a quick swim (lake Tahoe water is notoriously freezing) I wore this bikini top all day (actually, all weekend) and people kept thinking it was a top! Since I wore it around the dock and town with high waisted shorts, it did appear more like a summery crop top than a bikini top, and with the flattering/distracting flounce, it seemed to actually add more coverage and security than your basic bikini.
…which made me think how genius it is to have bikinis that double as comfortable and cute summer tops! I have rounded up 15 of my favorite bikinis that would be killer worn as a top with a high waisted pair of shorts, or chic when glam-ed up with a waist-height skirt or pant. Although it’s already July 5th, you may not think you’ll need another swimsuit this season. Trust me, with at least 3 more months of warm weather you do. Especially if you bought a star and stripe one for this past weekend…. time to refresh for the height of summer!
