Lately I have been working on some projects for my day job that have inspired me for this blog – which is the best thing you can ask for when you are working full time and blogging on the side. We started playing with patches at work, and immediately I became obsessed with them in my personal style as well. This old blazer was actually in the donate pile, but I dug it out and gave it a new life by creating a fun asymmetrical allover patch and embellishment detail down the front. It wasn’t difficult, literally just ironing and sewing patches in a strategic pattern, but it was so easy and therapeutic and I loved that it gave one of my old pieces a reason for being again. I strongly suggest next time you go through to donate or throw away clothing you really consider what would make it cool again- there is such satisfaction brought from up-cycling old pieces!
