Orange+Fuschia

I nabbed both these shoes and faux leather jacket at the Zara sale and couldn’t wait to break them out this weekend. The orange and fuschia combination is so fresh and bright- you might be seeing more of this color combo to come!

Embracing Pink

It’s funny, growing up I refused to wear pink. A tomboy to the core, anything pink, lace or ruffly was my immediate turn-off. However, my mom was in town the past few days  and I finally took her to a Joe Fresh store where she treated me to one of these silk shirts. I already have 3… and although I teetered on buying this one, my mom loved the bold hue of this pink. My style is constantly evolving (hence the Safari), but I think going forward I will be able to embrace a bit more pink as long as I balance the outfit with some tougher elements as well. What do you think?

Silk and Linen

There’s so much to say about this outfit. I love the colors and the bold colorblocked stripe of the top, and even more so I love that both the top and pants were on major sale at J.Crew. The only thing I am not completely in love with are the fabrics for both. Although you can wash both this type of silk blend and linen in your home washing machine, ironing is crucial. I suggest buying some spray starch to make your life easier!

Top: J.Crew (on sale for $35 with the current 30% off sale!). Pants: J.Crew (on sale for $56). Necklace: Bauble Bar. Sunnies: Karen Walker. Jewelry: Souvenir from India and Forever21. Shoes: Chinese Laundry

Flower Block

Color blocking and bright florals are my summer outfit recipe for beating this heat while still looking chic. I love how pairing bright colors like hot pink with solid black and white really makes the colors pop!

Green Monster

Maybe it’s because I’ve been watching so many Boston sports of late (yes, I’m from San Francisco, but that boy I live with happens to be from Boston) but I am fully embracing kelly/emerald/celtic green. This has to be one of my favorite outfits in a while- the sweater suit is super comfortable, I can’t stop wearing the polka dot shirt, and these color block loafer heels were basically made for me. This is happiness in an outfit.

Sweater suit top and bottom: ASOS (pencil skirt bottom here). Polka dot blouse ($50): JoeFresh. Heels: ASOS. Belt: Gap (similar here and here). Bag: Badgley Mischka.

Put a Bow on it

Spring is here! Time for shorter hemlines, bold colors, and my unfortunately pale legs. Sometimes I find it hard to put together a cute outfit in the spring and summer because I am wearing so many fewer layers. To add some extra punch to an outfit like this, just put a bow on it! This easy DIY corsage was a simple detail that added the extra POWW this outfit needed for spring.
