If you’ve been following me on Instagram you know I just got back from my honeymoon, where the majority of time was spent in Bali. However, as Bali is a difficult place to take a direct flight to, we made a quick 2-day stop in Hong Kong. Mr. R and I didn’t know what to expect in Hong Kong- we had heard it was a beautiful place with lots of shopping (!) but didn’t know the right places to go or the things to see. We decided to set out on foot and explore, trying to eat as much as possible and then walk it off to have room for our next meal. Overall, we loved the city and discovered so many hidden gems that we can’t wait to come back for longer next time. This is what we found:
{we took the Star Ferry from Kowloon (where we stayed) across to Hong Kong Island and saw beautiful views of Victoria Harbor}
{Explored the city and it’s monstrous buildings}
{enjoyed Michelin-starred Dim Sum at Tim Ho Wan}
{Feasted on a unique ice cream treat with chocolate-filled waffle balls at Oddies Foodies}
{got very lost hiking up freeways but enjoyed the scenery}
{found a delightful mini temple in the middle of the city named Man Mo Temple}
{stared in awe of the unique blend of nature and architecture in this city. Everywhere you looked there was beautiful trees and plants to offset the soaring skyscrapers}
{Obviously discovered some boutiques and did a mix of window shopping and real shopping on Hollywood Rd}
{Regretted not buying this little furball}
{admired the street art on every turn}
{stopped for delicious Masala Chai and matcha teacakes at Teakha}
{stumbled upon another Michelin-starred ramen place Shugetsu so had to have another meal}
{snacked on dried Kiwi… actually pretty good!}
{took a taxi to Stanley Beach for more shopping {you guessed it} and breathtaking views}
{counted the number of things to buy with cat ears}
{finally made it back to our hotel room and ordered room service. Hey- it was our honeymoon after all!}
Have you been to Hong Kong? What were your favorite places? Would you go back?
