High Tea at Bergdorf

Yesterday afternoon I went to Bergdorf Goodman for High Tea with my friend Angie. Dressing up like a lady who lunches and parading around BG was something I’ve wanted to do since I moved to NYC, and I was lucky that Angie indulged my silly wish. We even rented dresses from Rent the Runway for the occasion, and I picked this tribal print maxi dress from Tibi. I am absolutely obsessed with the design and wearability of this dress, and even more obsessed with the fact that I could wear it all weekend for a fraction of the cost. Overall, I would recommend both Rent the Runway’s services and BG’s amazing High Tea offering, both of which provided helped me to have the perfect Sunday afternoon!

Dress: Tibi via Rent the Runway. Jacket: Zara. Bag: Clutch: Nordstrom old. Jewelry: Banana Republic, Forever21, souvenirs from India, soho street vendor, DIY.

Amber Waves of Grain

This past week I spent in Nantucket and Martha’s Vineyard, and only packed red, white and blue clothing for easy outfitting and Americana spirit. I have a few rules on summer vacations- pack light, bring a good book, and never blow dry your hair. That way I can spend more time eating, drinking, and enjoying the beautiful surroundings. I hope you have plans for a great summer vacation!

Maxi dress: American Apparel ($44). Shirt: Gap Japan. Espadrilles: Mia (from Marshall’s, other colors here). Necklace: Stefanie Marie Designs. Jewelry: C.Wonder, Forever21, souvenirs from India. Bag: J.Crew. Sunnies: Forever21

Special Thanks to the talented Diana Arand for these amazing photos!!

White Goddess

Summer makes me dream of goddess-y lengths and gauzy whites. And while I love to keep the accessories at a minimum, I can’t resist the shiny glow of a statement necklace or a peek of very intricate sandals.

Cozy

Curling up fireside with hot cocoa and my WWD’s would be my ideal way to spend Christmas vacation. However, with my family there’s no way that I would get this much peace. While taking these photos, my grandmother was simultaneously yelling at me to smile and quizzing the photographer (my boyfriend) about if his grandparents were in WWII. My family holidays may not exactly be serene, but over the years I’ve learned to cherish the yelling and craziness- that’s what makes home, home, after all.
